Your full entry-level scuba certification
The PADI Open Water Diver course is the world’s most recognized beginner scuba certification and the ideal way to start your diving journey. Over the course of your training, you’ll complete dive theory, confined water sessions, and four open water dives, building your skills step by step until you are ready to dive with confidence.
Theory and confined water training
Whenever possible, we recommend completing the theory in advance through PADI eLearning. This gives you more time to focus on your in-water training while you are here in El Gouna. You’ll begin by learning the fundamentals of scuba diving and practicing essential skills in a calm, controlled environment. For adult guests, confined water training takes place in the Cook’s Club pool next to our dive center. For guests under 18, we use the nearby Club House pool.
Four open water training dives
The Open Water Diver course includes four open water dives. During these dives, you’ll apply the skills you learned in confined water, gain confidence in real diving conditions, and take the final steps toward your certification. Depending on the schedule and conditions, these dives are typically completed over two training days.
Surface intervals and lunch on board
Between dives, there is time to relax on board, enjoy the sea views, and take a break. Water, fresh fruit, and cake are included on board, while lunch, soft drinks, coffee, tea, and snacks are available at an extra charge.
After your training dives
As the course progresses, your instructor will review your dives with you, answer your questions, and help you feel comfortable with every new skill. By the end of your training, you’ll have completed the requirements for the PADI Open Water Diver certification and be ready to continue diving with a buddy to a maximum depth of 18 metres / 60 feet within your training limits.
Return to El Gouna
At the end of your training days, we return to El Gouna with new skills, more confidence underwater, and the unforgettable experience of becoming a certified diver in the Red Sea.
